Cities are hotbeds of innovation and are increasingly seen as testbeds for the solutions to the future physical, economic, and social challenges humanity faces. They also represent a great opportunity to develop technologies that have the potential to provide a major boost to the UK economy.

The scale of the opportunity is immense. The Technology Strategy Board, the UK's innovation agency, estimates that £6.5 trillion will be invested globally in city infrastructure over the next 10 to 15 years. Of this, the accessible market for companies developing future city systems is estimated to be worth £200 billion a year by 2030.

Base Glasgow aims to act as a catalyst for the future cities market through addressing how public sector policy and ambition translates into private sector opportunity. Base Glasgow looks at the delivery at the city-scale of low-carbon, resilient and sustainable buildings and infrastructure. We believe our focus at the individual city level makes the opportunity much more tangible, immediate and achievable.

We attract a city-focused audience, creating what we believe to be the best opportunity yet to bring together the people with the influence to promote, fund, design and deliver a resilient and future-proof Glasgow.
